It turns out that the cable was carrying 11000 volts....yes....Eleven Thousand Volts.....

I went out ratching and found a Sanyo....

Me again ....Hello everyone,

Update on the hole in the ground....

It turns out that the cable was carrying 11000 volts....yes....Eleven Thousand Volts.....
It was the the supply from Hammersmith power station to the substation underneath the internet cafe to supply Earls Court and half of Fulham....
The guy was lucky to be alive.

The hole has now been extended and is about 6 meters long with a whole load of pipes all close together, a couple were empty, one was gas, one water, one with a now broken ceramic jacket for all the Telecoms in the area and another with an electric supply for the street....plus a few they have no idea about.

It turns out that each company that digs up the road only have the plans for the whereabouts of their own cables / pipes and no-one elses.

I went out ratching and found a Sanyo 24H, 4 head / field advance, time lapse video recorder, model TLS-924P got it home and it seems to be in good working order :-)
