What a Party :-)

For one and a half hours there were two US army helicopters circling overhead...

We then noticed a massive wind generator next to the London Eye....

The party went well with around 300 people turning up and the bad weather held off...

There were two bonfires going and an effigy of George Bush was put on the the one furthest from me...

I found out during the night that the Beach party that was filmed by the BBC a couple or so months ago, was on telly last week .....

What a Party :-)

I got to Festival pier 3.30pm and met up with a couple of friends to go scouting for firewood,
For one and a half hours there were two US army helicopters circling overhead...so we started an urban myth that Mr George Bush had arrived early as part of his security plan.....
Helicopters heading off

We then noticed a massive wind generator next to the London Eye and after a chat with the Security we found out that there is going to be an official launch of this thing, and the whole of the Southbank is going to be turned into a tropical storm and it`s all going to televised.
Wind Generator

They have fog machines and lighting effects in all the trees and on the buildings, there are loud speakers everywhere on the roofs all in plastic bubbles and water sprinkling systems all over the place.
Bits in the trees

It all kicks of 7pm Tuesday, I am going to be there somewhere taking photos...it might be a laugh.....

I then get told that the party is not going to be unplugged, as all the crew are turning up with everything!!!...Oh Sheite this means a lot more work.....and it was....
The Party has started

The party went well with around 300 people turning up and the bad weather held off,
While we were setting up a big boat went past with a huge water spray screen and pictures projected on to it ...the pictures almost looked like holograms,
Sorry no pictures of it as it was a sod to photograph with my camera and kept looking out of focus :-(

They got me another "Generator from hell"...it broke down at least 6 times...
The interior of the fuel pipe was disintegrating and the bits were blocking the carburettor and I couldn`t get the fuel bowl off the damn thing to get the bits out, without dismantling the whole generator...grrr
But as there is enough profit made on the bar over the last few events we are going to buy a nice new one that I can treat with TLC and know that it will work properly, and...I get to choose the spec of the thing :-)

We had over sixty firework rockets all lined up and the guy that brought them ran down the line of them lighting them by hand, it looked brilliant, after he had finished my friend and I let off ?80.oo worth of ground fireworks (and a few rockets that got missed on the first barrage) that he and another guy had brought with them...nice one guys :-)

There were two bonfires going and an effigy of George Bush was put on the the one furthest from me...well it was a big bonfire where`s the one near the genny was kept sensibly small, I couldn`t stray far from the genny with it being so cantankerous, so again no photos.

There was mulled wine being made at the bar and they were struggling to light a bar-b-q to warm up the pot of wine...I got it going (without using flamable liquids or explosives :-)) and then a person that shall remain nameless ;-p comes over and shouts " I don`t believe it...I have spent an hour trying to light that thing and Rat gets it going in seconds".....

Thank you to all the people that invited me to parties and places to come back and chill out "Hi, Rae...l"...but with all the lugging of things about etc, I was really knackered and needed to get back to my nest :-) but Heh, maybe the next one eh?

Hi to all the sysads, other computer types and the helpdesk people who turned up to the party...I was amazed, it might as well have been a 2600 meeting, and apologies to the none techies for being left out of the picture while we were waffling.....

I found out during the night that the Beach party that was filmed by the BBC a couple or so months ago, was on telly last week and I am getting a copy of the tape...I have been told that I am on it several times with me being quoted a few times.... :-)

I got home 4.30 am and died for twelve hours, absolutely nothing woke me up....

Thats all I can think of writing for now, so thank you everyone for reading,
I am going to chill out now and watch some Div X`s.

Yours
The Reverend Rat
